Any ideas on golf courses and B&B accommodation? Is it may be better to change dates to 9th till 15th due to the horse racing festival

Hi Dave,

It's good to hear that you are planning a golf trip to Ireland next year. In terms of golf courses, you really are spoiled for choice in the west of Ireland.

Some courses in Galway itself include Connemara Championship Golf Links, Galway Bay Golf Resort, Galway Golf Club, Bearna Golf and Country Club, Portumna Golf Club, Oughterard Golf Club, and Athenry Golf Club.

A little further afield, you will find some of the most prized golf courses (not just in Ireland, but in the world). These include Lahinch Golf Club and Trump International Golf Links, both in County Clare, County Sligo Golf Club in (as you can guess) County Sligo, and Adare Manor in County Limerick.

In terms of scheduling your visit, the 2023 Galway Festival will take place between 31st July and 6th August. As you have alluded to, it will be a busy time in the area. It's still a good time to travel, but I would recommend booking accommodation early in this case.

By clicking here, you can find useful information about BnBs and accommodation options in Ireland.

Regards,
Eoin
