Looking for the best way to get from Belfast to the studio tour. We have tickets for a Monday. Looked at public transport but looks like it’s a real pain. Was probably going to hire a car, but would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Hello Paula,

How wonderful to hear that you are going to visit the Game of Thrones studio tour! I'll be happy to provide you with some useful information on how to get there and some other suggestions that you might enjoy as a fan of this epic series.

In this article you can find links to the Studio Tour. Here, you can book a coach connection from either Dublin or Belfast directly with them. In the article you can also read about parking options, should you opt for a rental car to take you there.

Do you have plans to visit any of the other Game of Thrones filming locations in Northern Ireland while you are here?

I hope this is helpful and that you will enjoy your trip to the realm of ice and fire! Should you have any more questions please let us know, we'll be very happy to help you plan an epic trip to our wee island.

Warm regards,

Vera

Hi Vera
Thank you for your reply. From what I can gather the coach connections from Belfast to the GOT studio only run at the weekends. We have tickets for the Monday, so we are limited to public transport, but for convenience we will probably hire a car. Trying to cram in as much as possible on our 3 day visit. Have a trip to the Giants Causeway and Titanic museum as well.
If you have any suggestions /recommendations for transport, places to eat they will be gratefully received. Kind regards.

Hi Paula,

You are absolutely right, the transfer package only works for Saturday, Sunday and special days. Using public transport would take you between 1h30 and 2 hours. If you are looking for information on renting a car, here are a few more tips.

In addition to the Giant's Causeway and Titanic Belfast, I'd suggest a Black Cab tour or simply wandering around the city. This sample itinerary over three days might give you additional ideas in Belfast. For public transport, here are tips on discovering the surroundings of Belfast without a car, some walks in the area and a concierge's guide that includes restaurants suggestions.

For public transport, I'd suggest using the Rome2Rio website as well as Transport For Ireland to figure the best route to places you want to see.

I hope this helps and let us know how you end up filling your three days in Northern Ireland!

Antoine

Hi
It is possible to get a bus from Europa Bus Centre in Belfast to Banbridge Bus station from where you can take  a second bus to The Boulevard Outlet Shopping Centre which is adjacent to The GOT Studio Tour.  Alternatively it would be a short taxi to the Studio.  Public transport information for all of Northern Ireland can be found at www.translink.co.uk  You could purchase an
I Link Zone 3 card which would cost £14.50 per adult per day and would cover any public transport that day.

Hi
Thanks for the info, I think for convenience we will hire a car to get to the studio tour, it looks like a straightforward route and it takes the pressure off relying on public transport to get us there for our ticket time slot.
Kind regards
