Hello all. Several of us are coming out end of July/First week of August and looking for lodging for the week. Flying into Dublin and doing a driving tour to Belfast, Bushmills/Causeway, Derry, Donegal, Galway, and back to Dublin. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Hotels? Bed and Breakfasts? Thank you.

We are so glad this helps, Joseph! Please let us know if you need tips about your itinerary or anything else until the time comes. 😊

These trip ideas along the Causeway Coastal Route and Donegal's Northern Headlands might give you a few more ideas.

Cheers,

Hi Joseph,

I am delighted to read of your trip to Ireland this summer.

Antoine has drawn your attention to the Causeway Coastal Route. I suggest at least two days to explore this stunningly beautiful drive, spending the first evening around Ballycastle or Bushmills, and your second evening further west, before moving on to Derry-Londonderry.

From Belfast, the A2 coastal road takes you out along the shore of Belfast Lough and basically follows the coast.  Here is a link to specific sights along the way. CCGDownload - Causeway Coastal Route Map - 2023 (mobile).pdf(visitcausewaycoastandglens.com)
With so much to see in a small area, it is worth deciding beforehand what your must-see sights will be. Some of these must be booked in advance (e.g. The Gobbins path, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, tour of Bushmills Distillery, Giant’s Causeway (booking advisable)).  FYI the puffins on Rathlin Island go back to sea mid-July.  It’s so important to get the balance right between trying to see sights, but also having time to pause and just enjoy being in a beautiful place.

As regards accommodation, the relevant section of our website has images and descriptions of hotels and B&Bs. https://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com/accommodation If you would like help with booking accommodation - and we definitely recommend booking in advance as it is peak season when you are coming - we in Coleraine Visitor Information Centre offer an accommodation booking service; we will be only too happy to help you. Email us your preferences and we will seek to find suitable accommodation for you. E: visitor.information@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk

All the best with your planning, and I hope you have a great trip,
Mary
