Is there trolley service on all Irish rail trains or only more popular segments. The ones I’m wondering about is Dublin to Galway and Dublin to Kilkenny

At the moment, the trolley/catering service is only available on the Dublin-Cork service and the Dublin-Belfast service. 🚆

The stations in the city offer food and drink facilities to purchase before getting on the train.

The Dublin to Galway journey is about 2 hours and the Dublin to Waterford, stopping at Kilkenny is about 1.5 hours so if you grabbed something before boarding the train this may well suffice!

What have you planned to see and do while in Galway and Kilkenny?

Thanks so much Martin. We’re staying in Galway 3 days and going to cliffs of moher and Connemara national park. We’re just going to Kilkenny for the day from Dublin.
Thanks for the info!

How exciting, Betty! I hope you're going to love Galway, it's the perfect base to explore County Clare and Connemara while enjoying its atmosphere in the evening.

FYI, you can easily reach the Connemara National Park visitor centre in Letterfrack by taking the bus from Galway. The Diamond Hill Loop is really worth it if you like hiking.

Talk soon,
Antoine

That actually sounds like a great idea. How do I get bus tickets and where is bus station in Galway?

I'm glad you like the idea, Betty! You can get tickets on the bus or through Citilink's website. Most buses leave from Eyre Square (Galway's bus station) and you can check out the routes & stops using Rome2Rio (I pre-filled the itinerary from Eyere Squre to Letterfrack, which is where the visitor centre is).

Are you planning to visit the Cliffs of Moher by organized tour or to make your own way around?

Antoine
