We and another couple have booked a 6 day tour off the north part of Ireland [not "Northern Ireland"] that ends in Dublin on September 6. We have also planned to reserve a cottage in Dingle and meet another friend starting September 9. We would appreciate suggestions about how to spend the days in between, and best transportation options. We are in our 70's but do not have mobility problems.

Hi Peter,

It's good to hear that you are planning a trip to Ireland in September.

Firstly, there are a number of different ways you could travel from Dublin to Dingle. The only direct way would be to rent a car. That option would allow you to stop at different places along the way, if you wished to. Other than that, you could take a combination of buses or trains, or you could even fly most of the way there (as far as Kerry Airport).

For ideas on what to do during those days, this Trip Ideas page is very handy. One tip would be to explore the Ring of Kerry. You could also spend the time exploring Ireland's Ancient East on your way down to Dingle.

If you have any other queries, we're here to help.

Regards,
Eoin
