Ireland disabled????

Hello dear friends,I was sick and now need a walker or a wheelchair! What can I do in Ireland? How can I explore the country? Where can I get "conemara"? Can you give me information? I live in Munich - Saint Patrick's Day is coming soon ;)

It's lovely to hear you are interested in exploring the island of Ireland! 💚

Many attractions, accommodation providers, restaurants, pubs and transport providers on our island are wheelchair accessible and further improvements are being made all the time. If you'd like to organise your own itinerary, I can recommend this article on our website with lots of useful tips and links on how to get around, accommodation and attractions. I would also like to direct you to this post here in our forum which shares some great ideas on things to see and do.

Another option you could consider would be joining an organised bus tour together with a travel group and tour guide. These multi-day tours take you to many attractions around the island based on a fixed itinerary which means you wouldn't have to worry about planning and could enjoy stories and information from your tour guide on top of amazing landscapes and attractions. We have a list of approved tour operators whose offers you could check out. It would be a good idea to get in touch directly to talk about your needs and see if arrangements are possible. There are also a few companies that specialise in wheelchair accessible bus tours which you can find hyperlinked in this forum post.

Connemara is a region in County Galway on our west coast which offers many beautiful natural attractions. It is also a National Park renowned for its walking and hiking trails. Many bus tours include this region to some extent and take you directly to sights such as the stunning Kylemore Abbey whilst you can sit back, relax and enjoy the magical landscape comfortably from your tour bus. I recommend checking the above links to tour operators to find a suitable offer.

Ich freue mich die Liste ergänzen zu können: Connemara Original ist einer der ganz wenigen rauchigen irischen Single Malt Whiskeys. Kein anderer irischer Whiskey vereint kräftigen Torfrauch mit süßen Früchten und Vanille so harmonisch wie Connemara. Mit verbundenen Augen würde man sich auf die benachbarten schottischen Inseln versetzt fühlen.

Vielen Dank Sarah, ich interessiere mich neben dem Touristischen,  vor allem auch für das Besondere das nicht jeder kennt und für Traditionen die nicht so "en vouge".sind.  Ich schätze Ireland.com, weil es tiefer geht als ein Reiseführer!
Da ich das Glück habe in Bayern geboren worden zu sein bin ich mit gutem Bier aufgewachsen, da ist der Weg zu anderen guten alkoholischen und nicht alkoholischen Getränken nicht so weit...

In München zu wohnen ist in dieser hinsicht auch kein Nachteil, wir haben die Finest Spirits auf der auch Irland gut vertreten ist, Wenn ich in Irland bin möchtt ich viel anschauen und testen. Brauereiführung, Distillerie...... Alles!

Wie schön zu hören, dass du so neugierig auf deinen Besuch in Irland bist.

Vielleicht nicht ganz so bekannt wie der Irische Whiskey, aber nicht weniger spannend ist übrigens der Irische Gin. Es gibt jede Menge Gin Destillerien, die zu einem Besuch (und einer Verkostung) einladen. Vielleicht ist das ja auch spannend für dich.

Ich habe bisher wenig Erfahrung mit Gin, aber jeden den ich probiert habe war erst  wirklich gut wenn man ihn gemischt hat.
Irischen Gin kenne ich aber noch nicht, ich möchte ihn gerne probieren! Aber es gibt zu viel =)
Ich freue mich nämlich auch schon auf Irishen Vodka! Da wäre ich dann auch über Gin gestolpert.... Ich werde es genießen!
