I'll be spending a couple weeks outside Dublin and was wondering if I needed to bring my in home oxygen unit or can I just rent one locally with a prescription? The unit that I have is too large for carry on and am leery of having it checked as luggage. I have rented a residential Air BNB so the rented unit would be at a residential address. I'm just trying to check my options because the units are expensive and I don't have a ton of faith in airport luggage handlers; I've had too many things end up damaged because the needed checked. Thanks for any help.

Hi Joe,

It's great that you are coming over to see us!

After a quick search, I found companies offering CPAP rental such as BeechField or Home Healthcare. They are based in Co. Dublin and Co. Westmeath, so it wouldn't be too far away if you were to rent one. I hope that's the type of respiratory machine you were looking at.

For more info, I'd also get in touch with the HSE as they are more likely to give you all the info you need.

Have you got planned any day trips during your time with us?

Cheers,
Antoine
