We have rented a house on the Beara Way in West Cork near the town of Eyries during the last two weeks in August.  We are looking to hire a driver/ service to take us on tours and return us to our rental house at night. It will be just my wife and I for one week and then 4 of us for the least week. Any suggestions of taxis and services operating in the area? Thanks

Hi Ed,

West Cork is a lovely place to use as a base for visiting all of the main attractions down on the coastal area and beyond.

We have a list of chauffeur/private hire operators who should be able to help with your day tours needs. There is one in particular, West Cork Chauffeur, that may be worth a call to start with.

A little farther away in Cork is Private Tours Cork,  and also Kennedy & Carr, again well worth a chat to see if they can set up some bespoke tours for you and also your friends the following week.

There is also a website for Eyeries that has some excellent information in general but also some taxi companies listed who may be able to help you get around.

Will you be looking to take a walk along the Beara Way too?

Thanks, Martin Lots of useful information here. I appreciate your response and will check out the sites. We plan on doing some walking but are up there in age, so wouldn't want to slow down a group of more fit folks

Hi Ed,

I've researched and found a few walking trails that might be of interest to you. The first is the Eyeries - Creha Quay Loop, which is a 4.6 km, easy grade walk that takes around two hours to complete. It's a loop walk so you'll finish where you started.

The second is the Lonehort Loops - Beara Way. This is a 1.6 km, easy grade walk that takes around 30 minutes to complete. It's also in a loop format.

I hope this information will be helpful to you.

Cheers,
Eoin

Thanks Martin and Eoin for sharing the chauffeur info and the walks listings in West Cork. I'm sure it will come in handy, Ed!

We hope to hear all about your experience on the Beara Peninsula when the time comes. Let us know if you need anything else until then.

Cheers,
Antoine
