Hi,
We are a event hire company in the UK mainland. We have a wedding in Dublin that wants to hire our goods. We would bring the van over on the 30th September and leave on the 2nd October. The goods would come with us and we would bring the goods back with us. The value of the hire for the equipment is approx £1200. No goods will be left in Ireland after the event.

Do we need to declare these at customs? and is there a customs charge?

Hi Mike,

I would say that the best course of action would be to get in touch with Customs directly, as they will be able to give you the specific information on what needs to be declared and any associated charges.

You can also check out the Customs and Borders page for general information.

Regards,
Eoin
