Are the Keshcorran caves worth a visit? Are there signposted walks possible in this area?

Hello Kurt,

If you’re considering a visit to the Caves of Keash, I’d say you’re on the right path, literally and figuratively. You’ll find that the walk up is a bit steep, but it’s not overly challenging, and the payoff is well worth it. Once you reach the top, you’re greeted with a panorama of the countryside. In terms of walking trails, the path up to the caves is well-worn and easy enough to follow, but you won’t find a whole network of signposted routes in the immediate area.

Another place worth visiting is Lough Key Forest Park, which is around 30 minutes from the caves (about 25 km). It’s a great spot if you’re looking to combine nature and some light activities. The park has woodlands, lakes, and even some fun adventure options like tree canopy walks and boat rentals. 🚣

If you’re up for a bit more exploring, Sligo Town is just about 40 minutes away, and it’s totally worth the drive. Sligo’s got this great mix of history, culture, and a laid-back vibe. If you’re in the mood for a bit of nature, you can take a stroll along the Garavogue River.

What else are you thinking of doing while you’re in the area? It’s always nice to have a few different options on hand.

Happy adventuring! 😀

Arvind
