Hi, I'm Argentinian/ Italian, at the moment I have a national Identity card but no the passport.
Is going to be a problem to enter via Dublin with this?. Because I read they're not part of Schengen or should it be fine just with the ID.

Thank you!

Hello Mariano and welcome to our Community!

It's so good to hear you'll visit our island soon!

If you have an Italian Identity Card, you can travel across the island of Ireland, including Northern Ireland, as long as you reach and leave the island from an airport or a port in the Republic of Ireland. For more information, take a look at this page.

I hope this helps and feel free to get in touch if you need information or suggestions for your trip!😊

Buon viaggio!

Valentina

Hi Mariano,

There's an update regarding travel requirements!

Starting in March 2025, visitors must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter Northern Ireland. We have a page with all the information about this new requirement and how to apply for an ETA to travel between Ireland and Northern Ireland. That being said, you do not need an ETA if you are only visiting the Republic of Ireland.

We hope this is helpful and would be happy to help with any other questions you may have!

Buona giornata!
