It's good to hear you're planning a trip to Northern Ireland. If you're an EU citizen,
you can use your national identity card to travel throughout the island of Ireland (including Northern Ireland), as long as you are arriving and exiting the island via an airport or ferry port in the Republic of Ireland. As for accommodation, I would suggest asking hotels directly. We have
a handy search tool you can use to look for hotels or hostels everywhere on the island (at the bottom of the page)
It's important to note, depending on your date of travel, that EU citizens will need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) assigned to a valid passport for travel to Northern Ireland from 2 April 2025 (you can apply from 5 March). I would encourage you to keep an eye on the
