Your dream Ireland elopement is closer to reality than you think! You wouldn’t believe how many couples we meet at
Eloping in Ireland who thought they’d never be able to have their “dream destination wedding.” Just the thought of traveling from North America and eloping in front of an ancient Irish castle seemed like an impossibility… but it’s not!! It is an attainable dream that is both financially and logistically easier than you’d think. The Ireland elopement of your dreams is absolutely in your grasp. We at
Eloping in Ireland are going to give you some pointers to make the process that much easier!
Tip #1: Find a Trustworthy Elopement Service! Utilizing a destination elopement planner like
Eloping in Ireland saves you time and money. We provide the planning from vendors to scheduling, with package pricing. This allows our couples to worry about the most important part--enjoying your elopement to its fullest!
Tip #2: Check Wedding Vendor and Supplier Reviews from Trusted Sources. There are so many websites, like WeddingWire.com, that provide user reviews from past elopements. These reviews are a tremendous tool when preparing for your elopement. Reviews enable you to discern whether the elopement service or various vendors you’re looking into are helpful, affordable, and reputable. The suppliers and vendors that you hire should have (many) positive third-party review ratings. At
Eloping in Ireland, we take enormous pride in our customer reviews because they are real reviews, from real couples, coming from the heart about their direct experience. Check out 200+ incredible reviews on WeddingWire from our awesome couples
here.
Tip #3 Ask for Local Recommendations for your Ireland Elopement! We cannot emphasize this enough, because well…we know the area! And more importantly, we at
Eloping in Ireland know the experiences our past couples have sought after and enjoyed. Once you’ve booked your intimate wedding, you’ll most certainly need this kind of feedback, especially if you haven’t visited the area before. Your elopement planner will be able to best recommend experiences with important insights such as traffic, travel time, and enjoyability. Looking for a custom recommendation? Tip #4 Customization Can Be Key! While our elopement packages offer a great starting point for our couples, they can be customized to suit your individual needs. It truly makes the day your own! You may want to tailor what is within a given package to fit your budget while still making the day magnificent. Or some of you may be looking to add to a package to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Whichever side of the spectrum you’re planning from, it is a huge advantage to have this customization ability! At
Eloping in Ireland, we encourage couples to customize our elopement packages to best represent their needs as a couple. Check out our most popular destination elopement wedding locations and packages on our interactive map
here (choose from stunning locations including the world famous Cliffs of Moher, the Game of Thrones famous Dunluce Castle, Ancient Ruins, Churches, Beaches, Country Houses and Pubs).
Tip #5: Book Your Travel After Securing Your Date. Of course, the most important detail is the elopement date! Once you have this booked, it’s a great time to start looking at flights, and hotel accommodations. You will also want to use this time to consider your guest list. Many of our elopement couples select to have a very intimate group of friends and family they are inviting, while some desire a private wedding for two! If you are inviting guests, a personal wedding website can be used to keep guests up to date on travel information and the itinerary. Every couple who books their elopement with us gains access to our Travel Consultant who can plan every detail of your vacation/honeymoon.

Tip #6 Paperwork, Paperwork, Paperwork! Just because it’s important, does NOT mean it’s difficult or scary. As you’ll be traveling out of the country, you must have all necessary and VALID travel documents ready to go. So, if you are eloping from the USA or Canada, make sure your passport is valid! Try and make sure this is done immediately after booking so you can cross it off your ‘To Do’ list and move on to the next part of your planning! Additionally, a small detail we sometimes forget about is also the most important. Your marriage certificate!
While some couples elect to get legally married in their home country before the elopement, you would be surprised to learn that handling the legal paperwork in Ireland is easier than you would think. To “officially” tie the knot in Ireland, you will need to make sure this is handled at least 3 months prior to your elopement date. And because you’ll be traveling from out of the country, you are able to submit your wedding application via e-mail or post. This really simplifies the process!! Just keep in mind that if you’re registering remotely, you’ll have to meet with the Registrar 3-5 days prior to your wedding date! If booking your elopement with us, we will connect you with the correct Registrar and they will guide you through the entire legal marriage paperwork process.
