Hi
I'm trying to find more information from my GG parents. I believe there names were
William Brady and Catherine McGraph from Cavan.
I will attach what information I know.
I'm unsure if they migrated to Australia with the children William and Mary in about 1856 or 1857 possibly arrived separately. I was told by my dad that some of either William and Catherine's children or siblings  were migrating to the USA some died on a ship just outside of Boston.
Please see attached information the information may not be fully a 100%
Thank you in advance

Hi Candice,

It's good to see that you're doing some research into your Irish ancestry.

Before 1864 records were kept in the form of church and parish records; while some of these have regrettably been lost over the years, all the surviving records have been sorted into county-based genealogical centres.

As such, I would say it's a good idea to try the Cavan Heritage and Genealogy Centre, which is located in Cavan Town. The earliest church records from Cavan date from 1702, so there is a possibility that you'll be able to learn more about your roots through this centre.

Our own genealogy page is also a handy resource when searching your Irish heritage.

Regards,
Eoin
