Due to a change in itinerary I find I have a couple of days to spare on my trip next April. I am looking for suggestions on where to stop for 2 days between Limerick and Dingle, or Dingle and Cork or Cork and Kilkenny or Kilkenny and Dublin. I will be travelling by public transport.
Thanks,
Steve.

Hi Steve,

Since you’ll be traveling by public transport, there are some great options to consider for your two-day stopovers between Limerick and Dingle, or any of the other routes you mentioned.

From Limerick to Dingle, a popular choice is Tralee, which is the main hub for getting to Dingle. You can catch a bus from Limerick to Tralee (Bus Éireann offers routes), and then from Tralee, it’s a quick local bus ride (Route 275) to Dingle. Tralee has some nice parks and a lively town center. It’s also the largest town in County Kerry and a gateway to the Dingle Peninsula.

If you're traveling from Dingle to Cork, consider stopping in Killarney. It’s famous for its national park, and while the bus ride might be a bit long, it’s definitely worth it for the scenery. Killarney is also a major transport hub, ensuring easy connections to Cork. For something a bit smaller and more chill, Kenmare is also an option.

On the Cork to Kilkenny leg, you can visit Cobh. It was the last port of call for the Titanic, and you can visit the Titanic Experience Museum or simply enjoy the town’s colorful harbor views and iconic St. Colman’s Cathedral.

Heading from Kilkenny to Dublin, Carlow’s a bit of an under-the-radar spot with some great gardens and the massive Brownshill Dolmen (basically a giant ancient rock structure—super cool).

No matter where you go, two extra days in Ireland is a win. Have the best time!
