Dunluce Castle Dunluce Castle is an absolutely stunning medieval ruin on Ireland’s Northern coast this castle has a history believed to date back as far as the 12th century! The architecture was part defensive military in focus, coupled with medieval residential. Dunluce Castle was the home of the MacDonnell Clan, one of Ireland’s prominent Gaelic families. This castle has seen it all: battles, sieges, and nowadays, elopements! Some of the most well-known spots within Dunluce Castle are the Great Hall, The Drawbridge, and the Ruined Towers. The castle is known for the way it ‘clings’ to the edge of the cliff it sits on, with (very) steep drops to the ocean down below. Dunluce Castle is also tied to a lot of local ancient folklore and even some eerie ghost stories, making it the perfect spot for history buffs or ghost hunters!!
