Hello,

We will visit Ireland in September this year and it would be fun to watch a game of Hurling or Camogie. However, the season for the championships seems to end in July which means we will miss them. But, will there be other matches outside of the championships that we could watch in September? If so, where can we find information about them?

Thanks in advance, Len

Hi Len,

It's great to hear you’re interested in watching hurling or camogie during your visit.

While the intercounty championships do wrap up in around July, you’ll still have the chance to catch club games in September, including hurling and camogie. The club season runs after the intercounty season ends, with matches taking place across Ireland in towns and villages. These games offer a more local and community-driven experience, making them a great way to enjoy the sport.

For details on fixtures, each county has its own website where you can check schedules and venues. You can often buy tickets at the gate, and "friendly" matches are generally free to attend. You might find this community post on Watching Gaelic Games in Ireland (2025) helpful for more information on watching Gaelic games in Ireland.

Are you planning to visit specific counties? Let me know if you need anything else. :)
