Bonjour Valérie,

How nice that you are planning a trip to Dublin and its surroundings!

While there is no train station at Dublin Airport, you can still take the bus to the center of Dublin and then take the train to Kilkenny.
Shuttles like Aircoach or Dublin Express will take you to the city center in about 40 minutes. From Heuston Station in Dublin (the train station), you can take a direct train to Kilkenny (MacDonagh Station), which takes around 1.5 hours. You can check schedules and book tickets on Irish Rail.

Alternatively, you can take a direct bus from Dublin Airport to Kilkenny with JJ Kavanagh & Sons or Dublin Coach, which takes between 1.45 hours and 2 hours. It may be a more convenient option for you, unless you had plans to explore Dublin city first.

I'd suggest you use the Transport for Ireland website to pick the best route and purchase tickets if you'd like.

Lastly, do you have any ideas of what you'd like to see and do in Kilkenny? We may have a few tips for you here.

A bientôt,
Antoine
