Hey there!
I've been looking for a possibility to go from Galway to Dingle. I already checked all the big Bus lines and it seems that none of them is going to dingle. Is there any chance to reach dingle except by car? Does someone know something about?
(And, from Dingle we have to get back to Dublin to get on our flight home. Would be great, if you also knew how to manage that, but I'm pretty sure if someone knows how to get to dingle, we can leave it by the same way.)
Thanks!

Hi Vivien,

I love that you're planning to explore Ireland by public transport! 🚍🚂🫶

You certainly can reach Dingle by bus, you just need to catch a local bus for the last part of your journey, rather than one of the big bus operators. The best way to research your connection would be the TFI (Transport for Ireland) journey planner. You will see that there are possible connections via Limerick and Tralee / Limerick and Killarney / Cork and Tralee, the most frequent ones stopping at Tralee where you can take the local bus service 275. (Make sure to adjust the "Timetable validity dates" here to see the correct travel times, especially on weekends.)

Check the journey planner for your return trip as well - the fastest option might be the local bus service 275 back to Tralee, then a train to Dublin Heuston station followed by an airport shuttle bus.

I hope this helps! Feel free to reply should you need more travel tips - or of course if you'd like to tell us more about your plans in Dingle! 😊

Thanks a million Rebecca!
That helps a lot, I think we are prepared now 😎

I never travelled through Irland by public transports. I've travelled either by hike or hitchhike or with my own car. So, everytime something new 😄 I'm very excited to experience the train in Ireland.
