Good afternoon all,

I'm planning a trip in Ireland with my family in August and we'd like to spend a couple of day in Dublin and then have a rest in a place like an eco resort that could be at the same time a good starting point for visiting Cliff of Moher and also to make activities in the nature and together with other people as we have 2 guys, 14 and 11 years old.

Any suggestion?

Thanks!

Ciao Alessandra,

Your August trip to Ireland sounds fantastic!

You’ve already got a great plan in mind: a little time in lively Dublin, then some peace and nature near the Cliffs of Moher. Starting with Dublin, there are many attractions you can consider, such as Trinity College & The Book of Kells Experience, the Irish Emigration Museum (EPIC), and the Dublinia Museum: they are all interactive and fun, great for all ages. Also, I recommend you check out these sustainable activities to do in the city and along the Dublin coast.

Since you’re also looking to slow down and soak up nature afterwards, you might want to check out the Burren area in County Clare. It's a magical corner of Ireland, raw, rugged, and rich in natural beauty, and it's a short drive from the Cliffs of Moher, the Aillwee Caves, and the famous Doolin music scene. Also, it’s ideal for kids of your age, such as kayaking, caving, rock climbing, and visiting a sheep farm. For more suggestions, please check our articles "7 attività sostenibili in Irlanda" and "Goditi il ritmo di Galway".

Regarding the accommodation, there are a few lovely eco lodges and glamping spots (like Gregans Castle Hotel or Burren Glamping) where you can get that peaceful, close-to-nature vibe. Please, take a look at these two pages for more information: Soggiorni sostenibili and our accommodation search page to find the right spot for you.

Hope you find this helpful. Ireland can't wait to welcome you all! 💚

Buona programmazione!
