Hi Moya!

It's great that you are coming to our shores soon! Have you figured out your itinerary just yet?

First of all, here's a page about the weather in Ireland to know what to expect in terms of temperatures in September.  Highs can reach 17° and I've had pleasant sunny days myself around that time. In terms of clothing, I'd suggest bringing layers (a light fleece and a packable rain jacket for instance) as the weather can quickly change, especially when doing outdoor activities. Don't forget the shades. 😊

We also have a travel checklist and a handy packing video to come prepared. We also published a thread a while back with all info about packing for Ireland.

Let us know about your plans!

Cheers,
Antoine

Hi Moya,

If you’re thinking of coming to Ireland in September, great choice! Honestly, it’s one of the best months of the year here. The crowds are gone, prices calm down a bit, and the weather… well, it tries its best.

You can usually expect a mix of everything: a bit of sun, a soft bit of rain, and the odd day where you get all four seasons before lunchtime. Bring a light jacket, something waterproof just in case, and you’ll be grand.
September is that month where the country looks gorgeous, the evenings are still bright enough, and the locals haven’t fully gone back into winter hibernation yet.

Best,
Shane.
