This is a great list!
I’ve been to Winterval in Waterford quite a few times and always enjoy it. It’s easy to spend a full afternoon and evening there, especially if you take your time exploring the smaller side streets where some of the best food stalls are. I usually go in the late afternoon so I can catch the lights once it gets dark, as that’s when the place really comes alive.
One of my favourite parts is the local crafts section. You can find proper handmade gifts and chat with the makers, which makes it feel more personal than a regular market.
I’d really like to get to the Belfast Christmas Market one year. I’ve seen plenty of pictures of the City Hall with all the stalls set up in front of it, and it looks really impressive. I’m keen to try the range of food on offer and to see how the market mixes local traders with international stalls. It also seems like a good excuse to spend a day in the city, walk around, and take in a few more sights.

I absolutely love Christmas Markets, and will even schedule my travel plans around the most unique ones if I can... 😉 This year, the Winter Woodland at Beyond the Trees Avondale has particularly caught my attention. This place is magical all year round (make sure to look it up if you love exploring nature and treetop walks), and I can only imagine how special it will look once it's all decorated and sparkling with lights. 🎄 If I could schedule my perfect holiday this December, I would try to plan my visit around the 7th/8th, 14th/15th or 21st/22nd December and visit the Winter Woodland for their Christmas Craft Market. Hot chocolate, warm turkey, cranberry & brie baguettes and plenty of handcrafted gifts? Sign me up! 🤩 For me, it'll stay a dream for this year, but I would love to visit this Christmas market at some point in the future! 💫

Winter Woodland sounds like a true winter wonderland, Sarah! I would love to do the Treetop walks under the twinkling lights!
Thanks for the lovely addition, especially since we didn't have one in County Wicklow on the list! 🤩
