Hello
I'm planning a trip to Dublin from December 7th to 13th (6 nights). We are a senior couple and would appreciate your advice on the most interesting places to visit. We are primarily interested in Dublin (where we would be staying for all 6 nights), the Cliffs of Moher, Galway, and Belfast. We have some concerns regarding time and distances. Therefore, we would appreciate your advice on the best itinerary and routes.
I look forward to your response.
Thank you. Sincerely

Hello Juan,

What an exciting prospect! I'll be happy to offer some suggestions and help you make the most of your trip to the Emerald Isle.

First, let's take a look at things to see and do in your main destination, Dublin. You might enjoy the particular attractions of Dublin in winter. More general city guides that offer an introduction to local culture, culinary delights and not-to-be-missed highlights can also be found on our website for every vibrant city that is part of your itinerary: Dublin, Belfast and Galway.

Regarding your query about routes, I understand you are planning accommodation in Dublin for the duration of your visit to our island. I'm going to assume that ideally you would like to make day trips to the Cliffs of Moher, Galway, and Belfast and return to Dublin on the same day?

One option for traveling in comfort to your planned destinations is by train. A train trip from Dublin to Belfast will take about 2 hours, and from Dublin to Galway about 2,5 hours. Since Galway and the Cliffs of Moher are both on the west coast, I would suggest that you spend one night in Galway, and from there make a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher. These can be reached by bus from Galway.

Alternatively, I would recommend a look at these recommended travel operators. They can help you plan your trip with for instance chauffeur services or bus tours to your destinations, for maximum comfort and less time spent in transit.

I hope these links offer you some helpful tips to finalize the details of your upcoming Ireland journey. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

Enjoy the preparations for your travels, for now I'd like to wish you a wonderful visit to our wee island,

Vera
