In 1864, civil registration was introduced in Ireland. Since then, records of births, marriages, adoptions and deaths are kept at the
General Register Office of Ireland (GRO). I recommend you reach out to their family research facility directly - relevant information can be found
here. As detailed on this page, historic records are
available online, but it appears that your grandfather's records would be too recent to fall under this category. The research facility should provide you with the necessary information on how you can access his records.
