Hi everyone,

I'm planning a professional trip for a group of 15 persons. Our goal is to inspire French people with Ireland about landscapes, biodiversity and hedgerows management. There's a big heritage, traditions and laws to protect and restore nature in Ireland and I would like to visit famous spots where humans are gathering to act with sustainability.

The best examples would be places where hedgerows are managed and cut with sustainability to generate energy. Local boilers are fuelled by local wood to generate local energy.

So have you any ideas of interesting places or persons or organizations?

Thanks a lot!

Hello Laetitia!

That sounds like such an interesting trip and way of exploring the island!

I would encourage you to get in touch with Teagasc, the Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority as well as Hedgerows Ireland, both of which may have interesting resources for you, as well as useful contacts, events or other opportunities. Hedgegrows Ireland, for example, offers ''Introduction to Hedge Laying'' demonstrations

In addition, you might find these ideas (here and here) about sustainable activities of interest. Some farms also offer tours of their peat bogs, something that your group might enjoy.

I hope that helps get you started!

Alex
