In April of this year (2026) my husband and I along with a bunch of other friend will be coming g to Ireland. What are the “must sees” as this may be our only trip to this dream destination of mine.

Hi Lori,
It's wonderful to hear that you and a group of friends will be with us in April! ☺️It is tricky to list all of the must-sees as this will depend on how long you have with us, and what you are most interested in seeing, such as cities, attractions, the coastline, or the countryside. We do have plenty of trip ideas, destinations, and activities to help with itinerary suggestions on our main website. Included on the pages are accommodation ideas and transport options if you haven't already found these.
Please feel free to get back to us with any more details, and we can certainly add some more specific suggestions. 💚

If this may be your only trip to Ireland, you’ll want to make sure you include Northern Ireland’s spectacular north coast. The Causeway Coast & Glens is one of the most beautiful parts of the island and packed with incredible scenery.

The absolute must-see sights include:
Giant’s Causeway – Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site and an incredible landscape of thousands of hexagonal basalt columns formed by volcanic activity.
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge – A famous rope bridge crossing high above the sea with amazing coastal views.
Dunluce Castle – One of the most dramatic castle ruins in Ireland sitting right on the edge of cliffs.
The Dark Hedges – A beautiful avenue of beech trees made famous in Game of Thrones.
Mussenden Temple – A stunning clifftop viewpoint overlooking miles of beach.
Glenariff Forest Park – Known as the “Queen of the Glens,” with waterfalls and great walking trails.
Rathlin Island – A short ferry trip from Ballycastle and famous for seabirds like puffins.

Also try to drive part of the Causeway Coastal Route, which is widely considered one of the most scenic coastal drives in Europe.
If you have time elsewhere in Northern Ireland, I’d also recommend visiting Belfast to see the incredible Titanic Belfast museum, and the historic walled city of Derry.

The Causeway Coast & Glens really does surprise a lot of visitors — castles on cliffs, wild beaches, and some of the most dramatic scenery in Ireland.

I wish you both an enjoyable trip!

Best Wishes

Alison
