I am bringing medical supplies for my dialysis treatments. They will be in 2. Suitcases marked medical supplies. I will have a letter from my doctor indicating it’s medically necessity and what exactly I’m bringing. Is there any other documentation I will need? Or the detailed letter from my doctor?

Thank you
Marie McCauley

Hi Marie, how wonderful to hear that you will be over with us soon!
With regards to your medical supplies, there is our Health Information page on our website that has some helpful information to look at. It is advisable to carry the medicines in their original packaging, with a copy of your prescription and a letter from your Doctor as you mentioned you have already. As they are for personal use, you don't have to declare them to customs on arrival as long as it is less than a 3-month supply.

Have you planned on where you will be visiting during your time with us? 💚

I have a similar question: some of my medication is prescribed by a nurse practitioner. Does the letter for customs need to be from an actual physician/doctor, or can my prescribing Nurse Practitioner write the letter? Thanks in advance!
