Hello everyone, I’ve known this site for a while but I’ve never joined this Community before. I’d like to take this opportunity to ask for some advice. At the end of April, my partner and I will be in Ireland and, unlike last year when we only visited Dublin, we would like to rent a car and move around a bit.The only thing we’re sure about is that I’d like to get to Galway and visit the Cliffs, but for the rest I’m open to new ideas. We’d like to take things slowly, enjoy the towns where we decide to stay, and relax in nice pubs—live music would be the icing on the cake. We’d love to unwind while enjoying the fantastic scenery that Ireland can offer.I had thought about this itinerary, but there are still many gaps: we arrive in Dublin just before lunchtime, pick up the rental car and head straight to Galway, stopping at Clonmacnoise along the way, then arriving in Galway for a walk around, dinner, and sleep. The next day we’d head towards the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher, then either stay in Doolin or go back to Galway. After that, where should we go? Towards Connemara, Clifden, Kylemore, or should we move south and then return to Dublin? We only have 5 days including travel. I’m stuck and can’t decide because I don’t really know the places I’d like to visit.Your valuable advice is very welcome. Thank you!
Paola 😊

Hello Paola,

Thank you for joining the Community!

It's a great question, and you have already done a fair bit of research by the sounds of it! I'll gladly brainstorm along with you and the other Community members on what would make a perfectly relaxing trip for you when you come visit the island at the end of April.

Here are some ideas:

Staying in Galway for one or two (or maybe even three) nights could be a great idea, as it's a wonderfully bustling city with easy access to the many nearby natural and cultural sites. You will definitely find pubs with live music here.

Since you are looking for a relaxing time, moving to a smaller place will provide you with a more rural and quiet experience. A stay in Doolin, therefore, is a great idea. From there, you can also easily reach the rugged and windswept Aran Islands.

As time is a bit limited on this trip, and you want to focus on relaxing, perhaps it's an idea to not change accommodation every night? Especially because there is plenty to explore and enjoy in and around Galway and Doolin!

I hope this is helpful and I'm curious to see what other Community members will come up with. For now, enjoy the preparations for your trip next month!

Vera

Buona giornata!

Figurati, nessun problema! 😊

Puoi tranquillamente tenere aperti entrambi i post. Buona giornata anche a te!
