Hi everyone, I’m thinking of touring around the south west (just me) at the end of June 2026, no planning etc just following my nose. How difficult is it to just pitch up in a town or village and find somewhere to stay for a night or two? I’m aware there is to be changes from 20 May regarding short stay accommodation, many thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

That is an option, especially if you’re happy to be flexible day to day. That said, there’s never a guarantee of finding availability in a specific town or village, particularly in June, which is a busy summer period. It can fill up quickly in popular areas in the southwest.

For that reason, it’s generally recommended to book accommodation ahead of time during the peak months. Our accommodation page is a useful place to start when planning, as you can browse and filter options across the region to suit your route.

Regards,
Eoin
