We land in Shannon at 6 a.m......but our hotel check-in isn't until 3 p.m. How do we handle the lack of sleep? Nap in our rental car? A quick nap the moment we check in? If we crash at 8:30 p.m., we'll wake up at 4:30 a.m. I've asked for an early check-in but haven't heard back. Thoughts?

Hi Kathleen!
Landing at 6 a.m. is tough, but Ennis is only a 20-minute drive from Shannon Airport and is the perfect place to beat the jet lag. Definitely skip the rental car nap and head straight there.
You can start your morning by grabbing a coffee and a hearty breakfast in one of the town's cosy cafés. Afterwards, drop your bags at your hotel and head out for a walk to help you wake up. Ennis is incredibly historic and easy to explore on foot - you can stroll the colourful streets, pop into the boutique shops, or visit the ancient Ennis Friary. Getting out into the daylight will do wonders for you.
Once 3 p.m. finally rolls around, check into your room and take a strict 30-minute power nap to recharge, then force yourself to stay awake until a normal bedtime.
Hope this helps. Whereabouts on the West Coast are you staying? If you let us know your hotel's general area, we can definitely share some more specific local recommendations for your first day! 💚
