With the World Cup wrapped up, football fans have another huge tournament to look forward to. UEFA EURO 2028 is now less than two years away, and Dublin will play a big part in the action.
Ireland will co-host the competition alongside England, Scotland and Wales from 9 June to 9 July 2028. Dublin's Aviva Stadium is set to host seven matches. If the Republic of Ireland qualifies directly, all three of its group games will take place in Dublin, giving supporters the chance to watch the national team on home soil.
For visitors, the football is only part of the experience. A
few days in Dublin means time to
explore the city's pubs, restaurants, museums and historic streets before heading further afield.
The Wicklow Mountains,
the Boyne Valley and
Ireland's Ancient East are all within easy reach, while longer trips to places like
Galway,
Kerry or
Belfast can easily be added before or after the matches.
If you're hoping to get tickets, there's no need to rush just yet. UEFA has confirmed that sales won't begin until after the final tournament draw in December 2027. More than 40% of tickets will be in the lowest price categories, there will be no dynamic pricing, and over 80% will be available to supporters and the general public.
It might still feel a long way off, but 2028 will come around quickly. If you're already thinking about a trip to Ireland, EURO 2028 is a great excuse to start planning. Football, great food, lively pubs, and some of Europe's best scenery all in one holiday is hard to beat.
