Hi, aside from lovely beach walks, can any one recommend places in or around Caherdaniel that we would be able to walk our dogs (preferably off the lead, ie, no sheep)?
Thanks
Julia

Hello, Julia!

Will this be your first time visiting the Emerald Isle?  When are you planning to visit?  I would like to suggest having a browse at the Irish Trails website.  There are some excellent trail suggestions over there that could absolutely fit what you are looking for.

The little village of Caherdaniel is absolutely beautiful, located on the Iveragh peninsula and has a magnificent beach with incredible views.  See for yourself below.

I am sure that some of our other community members may have their very own suggestions to share with you also.

All the best,

Colin

Hi Julia,
I came across the below Community post, which might give you some more ideas -
Pet Friendly Beaches & Waters
I have also found this website for Dog Friendly Beaches in County Kerry
I hope this helps.

Hi Colin

Thanks for the link, very useful.

We've visited Ireland a few times and this is the second time we are staying in Caherdaniel.  We visited for a week back in 2015, and are coming back in August for 10 days this time.  We discovered the beautiful beaches and we're just looking for wooded and open land walks with our 2 dogs.

Hi, Julia.

No problem at all - glad to hear that the links have been helpful!  Have you been able to find any suitable routes from the links provided above?

I've also discovered some additional trails that may be useful, and appear to be quite secluded.  There are also some photographs and maps available for you to take a look at.  You can check them out here.

I'm sure that your furry friends will love exploring the beautiful Irish countryside!

Best,

Colin

Hello, Julia.

I hope you are very well.  I wanted to check up and find out how your trip went last month.  I and other members would love to hear all about it and of course would be interested in hearing about any tips and personal suggestions you may have.

Looking forward to hearing about it!

Best,

Colin
