We are coming to Cork on August 26 on the Princess cruise line. We are wondering how far it is from port to Cork and what transportation is available for 4 adults.
Of course we have to hit the Blarney Stone. Any info you can give us will be greatly appreciated.

You will arrive into Cobh , your choices are. Train to Cork City which takes 20 minutes,( directly opposite the berth) Hire a car from Great Island Motors or best of all remain in Cobh and see what the town has to offer. The Cobh Heritage Centre , home to the "Queenstown Story" is literally one minute from the berthing area and well worth a visit. You can call to the Cobh Museum just up the hill or visit St. Colman's Cathedral. Walk along the promenade and soak in the atmosphere of an historic maritime town, steeped in history. Either way enjoy your visit to Ireland. Cead Mile Failte.

Cork is very near Vivian. :D Just hop on the train to Kent Station, which will take you to the city for about €6 (single) in 30 minutes. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance via Irish Rail or you can purchase tickets at the station. From the train station it’s just a 10 minute walk to the heart of Cork, which is definitely worth strolling around in. Go to the English market for a culinary lunch or pack some snacks to take with you to Blarney. You will find more great tips and suggestions about what else there is to see and do in Cork in this thread. From the market, it’s only a short walk to the bus stop from where Line 215 will take you to Blarney in just half an hour.
The Journey Planner from Transport of Ireland makes planning your trip really easy, and it also comes as a handy app.

Hope this was helpful! :)
