I'd go with hooded rain jacket fleece liner , temps should average 45 degrees F in mid day but cooler in am and pm , wind and rain always possible but not lasting too long . Elizabeth

HI I need more help please.
Is getting very tight. I just checked the train schedule Belfast to Galway on 3/17. I didn't realize how long of a trip. It's almost half a day. The first train already sold out. The next one leaves almost 13:00 and it won't arrive to Galway oil almost 16:00 night time.
Should I take a chance and wait until I get to Belfast. I also checked the bus schedule but it won't let me check beyond Mar 7. The cost of the train ticket with free cancellation is about 8 euros about 40 euros vs 34 euros non cancelable. Any suggestion. This will cut my stay in Galway by only 2 nights and one day. Unless, I could travel the next day from Ennis.

Hi I'm very confused or very dumb I went to Irish rail website and entered belfast as departing point to galway . But then it said if you are starting your trip from Northern Ir you need to go to translink. Well that site is not user friendly I have no clue how to book this I think I got confused being sold out. It's just the cheapest fare. I'd rather pay the high ticket 40 euros and being able to cancel free. Please tell me what steps do I need to book this. Obviously, Irishrail won't let me use it and translin either

Elizabeth Are you saying that there is no such train going from Heuston to Galway. I only will be traveling by train to Connolly then transfer to a bus at Heuton. I had the impression all this time that it would be a train all the way.
So which site do I need to go to book this Irish rail or translink? When booking this ticket, what do I enter for departure and destination.? I assume that the bus ticket is already included

Larry There is a website called getthere.ie its not a booking site but an information site. If you put in Dublin to Galway March 19th it gives you every option by train and by bus with times on that day. Bus routes I mentioned before are Citylink Dublin to Galway Very reliable. two and a half hours. The train times are there also. Easier to book Train separate from Bus. All Galway trains leave from Heuston Train Station daily. It is a Public Holiday weekend so it is a bit busier.
