Hi Brian,
These are very unique times but they're made ever warmer and more welcoming by the bonds we make. Between us, that's what I adore about this community. It's always a joy to be able to connect with people who share a passion, especially a passion as pure and lovely as this one. ☘️
With any luck, this community will continue to lift your spirit.
Warmly,
Rochelle

My Ireland. The suns gone down beyond the sea The mist rolls in over wave and shore, It hides the hills where i long to be My Ireland where the air is pure. The moon does rise and cast its gaze Over silvered city and golden town, It smiles on Wild Atlantic Ways My Ireland clothed in emerald gown. The sun shines bright but sometimes dreich It dances on wild western wind, On hometown walls and cobbled street My Ireland where the heart does sing. The moon sheds pale and ghostly light Over cove and cliff and peat filled moor, Caressing all through sightless night My Ireland where my soul doth soar. The sun breaks through the morning mist From Dingle Town to Cormac Coast, From Ring of Kerry to Moher Cliff My Ireland, my life, my sacred host. The moon it sails the sea of night Over County Cork and Donegal, Over Derry Town with its walls of might My Ireland i answer to your call. The sun it calls and pulls me home To Eire's breast where lies my heart, Come home to me over wave and foam My Ireland, my love, we will ne'er again part. The moon it ploughs o'er a sea of souls Who live and love without regret, A nation full and proud and bold My Ireland, my hearth, i will ne'er forget.
The second piece i wrote after the interview i saw about an Irish actor missing home. Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing your second poem with us!
It is lovely to read about our island of Ireland in the written verse, why we suppose so many artists, writers, and poets produce many works about their time with us, and the importance of returning to our shores.
As always, feel free to share more of your island of Ireland inspired work.

This Our Land. My dreams of late 'oft turn to you Of summer dreams and winters wish, Of autumns hush and spring so new Upon this our land where we would kiss. Upon our shore we walked in bliss Our footprints deep into the sand, I never knew how much i'd miss My love, my heart, and this our land. For now i wander far and roam A pilgrim soul thats lost its way, That longs to find its way back home To this our land so wild and fey. So take me back wild western wind To feel the soil beneath my hand, Forgive me father for i have sinned But i'll find redemption in this our land. In this our land i will live my life And shed my tears into the sea, Seven tears, seven years, with my selkie wife Till the day that she abandons me. The poet i'll be in his lonely cell Wishing he was back home in Derry, With no release from his holy hell To this our land, just waiting for, the ferry.

I truly enjoyed these poems, Brian. Your words are like magic that make me feel transported. Hopefully, the poet's soul can come back home very soon.
Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank You. It is my ambition to have my works put to video. Beautiful scenery, lovely music, and my humble little words voiced in a wonderful, rich, Irish lilt. I could die a happy man then.

Inishowen. Last night i dreamt of Irelands shore Dreamt i walked her hills once more, Dreamt i saw the rainbow shine On Inishowen which i called mine. Last night i thought i saw her face So full of life and charm and grace, But she is missing from my heart In Inishowen where we did part. Last night i dreamt of Irelands bays Storm lashed Wild Atlantic Ways, Mighty Errigal so tall and free And Inishowen where she waits for me. Last night i thought she walked with me Down moonlit coves to white foamed sea, Her pale veiled luminescent form In Inishowen where she was born. Last night i dreamt of Irelands glens Where we once walked over moor and fen, From Kerry coast to Mallin Head And Inishowen where we were wed. Last night i thought i held her close Her hair it smelt of Eire's coast, I dreamt we walked over silvered dew In Inishowen when our love was new. Last night i dreamt of Irelands ways Her beauty lovely as the days, And nights we spent in Galways Bay And Inishowen where she now lay. Last night i thought i held her hand We walked cross meadows and mountains grand, The wild sea air blew soft and sweet In Inishowen, where i laid flowers at her feet.
A joyous St. Patricks day to one and all.

💚 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=odDAXiVhwmI
