I kindly ask for advice on the two best locations from which to move easily by public transport to see the surroundings. We are interested in the Causeway Coastal Route (4-5 days) and the county of Tyrone (4-5) days. thank you

Ciao, Lella.

Buona serata!

Francesco

Hi Lella,

You've mentioned exploring the Causeway Coastal Route and can I say you certainly will not be disappointed.  One of the world’s greatroad trips, it stretches from Belfast all the way to Derry/Londonderry.  In fact, Belfast and the Causeway Coast have recentlybeen named Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2018.

Both historic and rejuvenated, Belfast - with TitanicBelfast being a must see attraction - warrants visiting.  Beyond the city the scenic Causeway Coastal Route awaits your exploration.  Perhaps you may prefer to base yourselves in the Causeway Coast and Glens region which offers a variety of accommodation depending on your needs.  For further information on accommodation in the area please visit our website: http://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com/accommodation.

With regards to transport, the 172/402 Rambler bus service provides a hop-on hop-off service.  Departing Coleraine and finishing in Ballycastle, it stops off at several of the notable sights along the Causeway Coastal Route.  Central in the route is the Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its hexagonal–shaped basalt stones and columns. Click and find out about some more of the sights along the way.

You can also check the opening times of particular attractions in our guide, which can be downloaded at http://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com/Portals/0/downloads/Causeway-Coast-And-Glens-Visitor-Guide-2017.pdf.

If you have specific questions about the area or need help with booking accommodation we in Coleraine Visitor Information Centre will be only too happy to help you.

I hope you have a great trip.

Kind regards,
Alison

Hi Lella
Portrush is an excellent location as a base to discover the Causeway Coastal Route and you can arrive by train from Belfast - we provide a complimentary ride from the station on your arrival.  You can use the Rambler Bus Service to explore the route (the bus stops right outside our house!) and visit all the main attractions - the Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Bushmills Whiskey Distillery, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Ballintoy and Ballycastle.  You can take the train from Portrush to Derry/Londonderry and connect with a bus to Omagh (my old hometown!) which is the best base for exploring Tyrone.
Have a look at our website Shola Coach House B&B Portrush to check availability for your dates and let us know if you have any further questions.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Best Wishes
Sharon
