Hello
we are travelling to Ireland from Australia and arrive in Dublin at 3pm on the 16th November. We have a hire car booked and accommodation for 2 nights in Dublin. We are then wanting to see as much as we can and are hoping to fit the 12 day round trip into 9 days. Will we have any difficulty finding hotel accommodation at this time of year? And would we need to prebook? There will be 4 adults travelling.

Thanks very much
Kerry

Hello Kerry

You shouldn't have any problem in November getting hotel accommodation but the fact that you are 4 you might be better booking in advance.
Here are some links that might help.

https://discovernorthernireland.com/accommodation/accommodation/

If you need any other information before your trip just let us know.

Kind regards
Bronagh

Hi Kerry,

Hopefully you will get a chance to include the Causeway Coast and Glens into your trip round Ireland.  It stretches from Belfast to Derry in the north west and is known for its beautiful, varied scenery. From Derry you can connect onto the Wild Atlantic Way to continue your journey.

November is a good time of year to visit our lovely country and attractions such as the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle and Bushmills Whiskey Distillery should be less busy than through the summer months.  The same is true for accommodation and there is a good selection of hotels located along the Causeway Coastal Route. These, along with information about what you can see and do in the area, can be viewed at:  https://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com

I hope you have a great holiday!
Anne

Hello Kerry,

It's so exciting that you're planning on exploring the island this November! :D

As Bronagh from the Visit Derry office mentioned above, it shouldn't be too difficult to find accommodation without booking ahead, but since you're with four people, it might be a good idea to make reservations just in case. You can find all tourist board approved accommodation here, and you can search by selecting the name of the town, village, city or area you would like to stay in.

I definitely recommend booking ahead your accommodation for your first and last night so you're sure you have a place to stay when you arrive and when you have to travel to the airport or ferry again. Take a look at the Reservations in October and Book accommodation in advance threads for more helpful resources, tips and information.

Have you planned your itinerary yet, or are you thinking of travelling where the road takes you? :)

Feel free to reach out if there is anything else you need, and keep us posted on your plans!

Warm regards,

Melin

Thank you all for your responses and suggestions 😊. We think we might follow the 12 day road trip suggested on this site but condense it into 9 days. We are a party of 4, 2 couples. Would you still recommend booking ahead? Could we do that the night before?
November seems so far away!!

Hi Kerry,

You have so many options over here in Ireland. I would recommend booking ahead but there will always be some sort of accommodation available at that time of year in most places.

I would recommend paying a visit to the wonderful County Fermanagh where you will be able to take in the breathtaking views of this Lakeland county! You can find out more here: http://www.fermanaghlakelands.com/

what may be ideal for you and your group is paying a visit to the Share Discovery Village where you will be able to take part in a variety of activities on land and on water on the breathtaking Upper Lough Erne. There are also a variety of accommodation options on site in their wonderful chalets or caravan and camping sites: https://sharevillage.org/.

You are going to have a great holiday in Ireland for sure :)

Thanks,
Bryan.

Hi Kerry,

I'm so happy you've found an itinerary, and it will be November before you know it! Is it a route mentioned here on the Community or on the Tourism Ireland page

For the quieter areas a reservation wouldn't be necessary, but in the busier cities and areas it's a great idea to call ahead a day or two just to make sure they have rooms available. :)

I'm always here if you have any questions!

Thank you both so much.
It is a route suggested on the Tourism Ireland page Melin: 12 day trip around Ireland. We thought we could shorten it down a bit. We already have 1 full day in Dublin. I wish we had longer but it’s such a long way from Australia we have to fit in as much as we can with the time we have.
Ireland looks so beautiful.
Kerry
