Goodmorning everyoneI'm making a video of the 2017 holiday in Ireland, but I can't find an unspoiled place that I found driving in the car. I had started from Derry to the Slieve League, but on the way I stopped first in a green space on top of a mountainous area and then headed towards Col Glengesh.I can't understand what is called that lost place that was at the top of a step .You can help me from the following photos to understand what it's called. Thanks for your help

Ed eccoti nella nostra Community, Fabio. Benvenuto! 🤗

Thanks Marcella for the support. I was a week in 2017 in Ireland starting from Dublin and making the anticlockwise tour and I must say that it was incredible. I try to give you as much detail as possible, to understand the place. On the 4th day I left Derry towards The Ross, Cloghbolie, Co. Donegal, Ireland, but taking several intermediate stages. The first stage was in this basin. Very small road, unspoiled nature, very small stone bridges and no sign of civilization. Descending from what seemed like a step we always went on in narrow streets and we arrived at Glengesh Pass, R230, Co. Donegal, Ireland, where routes is a wonderful view of the valley. Then we went to eat and have something at The Rusty Mackerel, Teelin Rd, Lergadaghtan, Carrick , Co. Donegal, Ireland. Then visit the Sliabh Liag, Shanbally, Co. Donegal, Ireland. The question is where is this grassy basin with a narrow road in the center where one car passes at a time?

Hi Fabio,

My colleague Marcella mentioned this thread and that you are trying to identify a location in County Donegal.

As you will remember from your time up in the area, there is a lot of beautiful scenery, which does make it a little more tricky to pin down. Much of County Donegal is untouched but I will try and help find the beautiful valley.

From Derry~Londonderry had you visited many places on your drive before getting to the basin? For instance, had you been through Ballybofey, towards Ardara direction when you went down this narrow bog road? Did you see the Assaranca Waterfall before driving along the road?

The lack of fencing and telephone poles makes it a very remote place so very difficult to locate. If you have any more details, we will try to narrow it down some more. :)

Hi Martin
thanks for your support and your time .
I remember that after Derry, we did not see any cars and almost no houses and we entered this very narrow road. In the end this road led us to this basin in these mountains. A few kilometers later we took a step in where you could see a lake on the left (See new photos attached) and making a long way we arrived at the Glengesh Pass.I calculated that from the first photos of the first post to Glengesh Pass in the car we went in 1 hour and 30 minutes.https://d2b4i25io5fq3v.cloudfront.net/29-05-2020/baca7593-b5a2-4167-b8f2-9a77.jpghttps://d2b4i25io5fq3v.cloudfront.net/29-05-2020/0d73a418-c809-43cd-ad35-a66f.jpg

I think I have found the right path. The road is the R254 which in fact passes near Lough Barra Bog lake the same as in the last photo. Thanks to everyone for the support though. Hope to return to Ireland soon ...

Hi Fabio,

You are 100% correct. I was studying the last photo thinking that's Barra bog before I noticed your last post.
I reckoned you had just come over the bridge. I went to google earth placed myself on the bridge. and here is what I saw.
