I am 76 years old. Which documents do I need to present to the hire company apart from driving licence?

Hi Gregory,

It is great to hear you are planning to rent a car in Ireland.

I would recommend having a look at our page on renting a car in Ireland for more information on this. You will need a valid licence and credit card to rent a vehicle in Ireland. Most rental companies will not rent to drivers under 25 but there is no upper age limit. However, if you are over 75, you will be asked to meet additional requirements. This information is generally included in the terms and conditions on the company's website, and in some cases a rental company might ask for a doctors letter to ensure you are fit to drive.

It is important to contact the company directly.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
