Hi!
We are looking for accommodation with half board, but not a hotel with double rooms, rather an aparthotel (with kitchen, living room) or similar. Preferably not in a city, but rather in a rural area. Do you have any tips? Thank you!

Hallo Anna,

How nice to hear you're planning a trip to Ireland with your family! 🫶

While you might find some aparthotels in bigger cities, this wouldn't be a common option in rural areas. You might like to look into guesthouses or Bed & Breakfast accommodation as an alternative. These sometimes offer meal options (in addition to breakfast) or access to kitchen facilities. Usually, they also have a common area, such as a cosy sitting room where guests are welcome to spend time and perhaps even mingle with other guests. You could browse B&B Ireland for suitable offers.

You also have the option to book self-catering accommodation - those normally include a living room and kitchen, and you could plan your meals independently or make a local restaurant your go-to spot! Self-catering homes would especially suit larger groups or families. There are handy websites for the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to find a lovely holiday home.

This article on our website lists numerous approved accommodation providers, and with the handy filters in the middle of the page, you might just find suitable accommodation for you and your family. 🏡☘️

Do you already know where on the island you'd like to stay, and are there any activities you are looking forward to?

Liebe Grüße,
Rebecca 💚
