Hi! We are a group of 4 50-60 year old Canadians coming to Ireland for the first time from May 25-June 6.
I really need help building an itinerary that is loaded with things to do and places to go as I find it very overwhelming.
We land May 25 @ 8:20am in Dublin and will drop off luggage at our accommodations as we cant check in until later in the day.
We fly home June 6 @ 9:40am
We will stay:
 Dublin May25-May 27
Kinsale May 27-May 30
Milltown May 30-June 2
Kinvarra June 2-June 5
Swords June 5-June 6
We will have a car rental from June 27-June 5 that we will pick up/drop off in Dublin at the airport
The only day that has something specific scheduled(which can be cancelled or change the date) is a guided tour of the Ring of Kerry on May 31.
Some of the items we would like to do include:
a variety of castles
a variety of pubs and music
a falconry
caves
a sheep herding demo
islands
a boat tour/excursion
an old jail

Really not interested in hiking however normal walking and touring is perfectly fine.
Looking for an efficient route to do all of these things so that we are not wasting time back tracking.
I would rather schedule way too much and cut things out as needed than be left with regrets of missing out.
We will come back on another trip to do the North but I would like to get a. taste of Connemara too.
I am also desperately worries about the narrow roads and driving over a cliff lol!
Please help a girl out so I can stop this endless scrolling of amazing things to do but cant solidify a plan!

Hi,

You’ve already put together a really solid plan, and your route looks well thought out.

It can definitely feel overwhelming at this stage, so one helpful way to bring everything together is by using our website as a planning hub. You’ll find lots of inspiration and practical tips for many of the things on your list.

For example, our page on castles will help you choose a few standout locations, while our pubs section is great for finding authentic spots along your route. Our Dublin page will also be useful for your first couple of days.

As you’re doing a self-drive, our trip ideas section is especially helpful for shaping your days and seeing what fits naturally between your stops. Since you mentioned Connemara, we also have a dedicated page on that area, which can help you decide how best to include it.

And for peace of mind, our driving in Ireland page covers what to expect on the roads and should help ease those concerns.

In terms of planning your days, it’s usually best to pick two or three key things to do each day rather than trying to fit everything in. That way, you still get to see a lot without feeling rushed.

Regards,
Eoin
