We're visiting Ireland to travel in a few months, and we're looking for some unique experiences while we're here – and what's more unique than staying in a castle? Since we're travelling around the island, we have loads to choose from, so we need some help to make a decision!

Helen's Tower just outside Belfast is a contender – we want somewhere glamorous that's close enough to the city! On clear days you can supposedly just about see the shores of Scotland from the very top! It looks luxurious inside, and climbing up a twisting stone staircase to our room sounds like something from a fairy tale!

Alternatively, Killiane Castle in County Wexford looks beautiful and haunting! It's attached to a real working farm, which won the Georgina Campbell Farmhouse of the Year award for 2017. While you can't stay in the castle itself, the 15th century townhouse next door looks opulent and beautiful. And you can climb to the very top of the castle if you're careful! Has anyone stayed here before or head something about it?

Finally, Ashford Castle would make for a real luxurious retreat – it's a well-known celebrity haunt in Ireland that has a coveted five star rating! This would be an indulgent treat for us – they have an on-site cinema and a world-class, not to mention the beautiful sprawling grounds, the rich interior and the legendary food and drink on offer!

So what do you think – where should we stay? Or do you have any suggestions to add?

Good morning Samuel
All your suggestions are excellent however I would like to highlight Donegal if you get the opportunity to visit the northwest of Ireland. We are two hours from Belfast and Ashford Castle. Donegal was recently voted the "coolest place on the planet" by National Geographic. We have the longest stretch of coastline on the Wild Atlantic Way with the stunning Slieve League (one of the highest seacliffs in Europe).
I work at the beautiful Lough Eske Castle, the only 5 star hotel in Donegal.
you can look at it here http://www.solishotels.com/lougheskecastle/
kind regards
Sinead
